Dr. John Shi founded Centre Dental in 2004 with a clear mission: to deliver precise implant dentistry in a practice where every patient could understand the plan before treatment began. He chose Centre Street deliberately — close to the community he wanted to serve, and in a neighborhood where bilingual care matters.

In 2011, Centre Dental moved to its current home at 139 Centre Street, Suite 306, where the practice has continued to grow. Over two decades, Dr. Shi has performed extensive full-arch implant reconstructions and expanded the team under Dr. Shi & Associates.

Today, Centre Dental serves a community of 5,000+ patients from across New York and beyond, with patients traveling from other states and internationally for complex implant reconstruction.

Every instrument that touches a patient at Centre Dental moves through a documented four-stage process: ultrasonic cleaning to remove debris, packaging in indicator-strip pouches, full autoclave sterilization, and storage in sealed pouches until the next use. The autoclave is biologically tested with spore strips to verify the cycle actually killed organisms — not just that the temperature dial showed the right number.

Disposable barriers cover every chair-side surface a glove might touch — handpiece tubing, light handles, computer mice. Those barriers are replaced between every patient.
